Beth Shapiro is Chief Science Officer at Colossal. A MacArthur Fellow, National Geographic Explorer, and Fellow of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, Beth’s uses DNA from fossils to learn what processes shaped Earth’s biodiversity. At Colossal, Beth leads development of “de-extinction” technologies, with the goal to resurrect extinct traits and species to make today’s ecosystems more resilient.
